Join Our Team: Semi-Senior Accountant
The Uncommon Practice are seeking a highly motivated and organised Semi-Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in accounting, excellent IT skills, and a good knowledge of Xero. You will be responsible for preparing accounts, personal and corporation tax returns, VAT return, and other ad hoc tasks.
Who are The Uncommon Practice?
The Uncommon Practice are an accounting and consulting firm, shaking up the traditional world of professional services. We have grown rapidly, and expect to double in size in the coming months.

Job Requirements
– Qualified AAT or equivalent experience. – Expertise in Xero accounting software. – Proven experience in preparing management information (MI) and accounts. – Proficiency in preparing personal and company tax returns (desired but not essential). – Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. – Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. – Ability to work well under own initiative and manage time effectively. – A team player with excellent communication skills.
Role and Key Responsibilities
– Prepare accurate financial statements and tax returns. – Prepare management information (MI) reports. – Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards. – Utilise Xero for all accounting functions. – Assist with budgeting and forecasting. – Work independently and take initiative on various accounting projects, but able to ask for help when needed. – Manage and prioritise workload with support.
Preferred Qualifications
– Part-qualified in ACA, ACCA, or looking to begin studies (desired but not essential). – Experience in a similar role within a fast-paced environment.

You will need to be tech savvy, able and willing to use our existing software and online tools. You will be given the support you need to learn how to use these.

We expect all of our employees to work flexibly on different tasks when necessary and to understand that tasks not specifically covered in this job description are not excluded.
Salary
£26,000 – £30,000 dependent on qualifications and experience.
Location and Flexibility
This is an office-based role. Our offices are in Redwither Tower, Wrexham Industrial Estate. However, we’re willing to discuss flexibility around working from home options.
