New National Minimum Wage Rates from 1st April 2022

From 1st April 2022…
New rates of the National Living Wage and the National Minimum Wage come into force on 1st April 2022 and are set out below:
The National Living Wage for workers aged 23 and over rises 6.6 % from £8.91 to £9.50
21 – 22 years old rate: Rises 9.8% from £8.36 to £9.18
18 – 20 years old rate: Rises 4.1% from £6.56 to £6.83
16 – 17 years old rate: Rises 4.1% from 4.62 to £4.81
Apprentice Rate: Rises 11.9% from £4.30 to £4.81
Accommodation Offset: Rises 4.1% from £8.36 to £8.70
Almost all workers in the UK are entitled to the National Living Wage or National Minimum Wage except Company Directors, Self-employed people running their own business, and Volunteers or Voluntary workers. Apprentices are entitled to the apprentice rate if they’re either under 19 or 19 or over and in the first year of their apprenticeship. Apprentices over 19 who’ve completed the first year of their apprenticeship should get the correct minimum wage for their age.
